Tess is a mom, wife, certified life coach, writer, reader, belly dancer, musician, nonprofit board member, and much more. She loves to see how words and phrases can build different possibilities and used Legos to teach middle school students the versatility of language. She has a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in Communication Studies with a minor in Technical Writing and a teaching certification from Texas Women's University. Her Master's degree from Full Sail University is in Creative Writing for the Entertainment Industry specializing in film.
She is a technical writer by day for a major supply chain corporation and volunteers as a host for Shut Up and Write. She is currently on staff in the Continuing Education department of AIMS Community College in Colorado and hosts private, in-person retreats. Writing was not in her plans, and neither was teaching. But, those two areas consume her days and nights with passion.
Tess lives in Greeley, Colorado where she and her husband enjoy the view of the Rocky Mountain range from Pike's Peak all the to Wyoming on clear days. She has a faithful guardian pit mix named Locksley, a grey tuxedo cat named Garland, and an orange tabby beast named Rusty. Even though she is as 8th generation Texan, the call of the mountains was too great.
